Yeah I'm not sure if I am allergic to bird danger specifically but I do have an allergy to dust. In any event, my Senegal never really bothered me and I only feel very SLIGHTLY bothered by my Grey's dust.
HOWEVER I JUST got a Honeywell purifier -- thanks to you! -- and this should nip any dust issue!

Which model did you end up getting? I am also looking for a air purifier. Dust is kept at bay thanks to our robot vacuum cleaner though, which cleans the appartment 3 times a week while we are at work.

Yeah I have hardwood bamboo flooring, so mopping/wiping with multipurpose wipes is effective. But a robot vacuum cleaner sounds EPIC! ^^ 'Wish I had a robot that would wipe and mop my floors for me, lol

Anyway, the Honeywell air purifier states "True HEPA Allergen Remover"... model number 17000-S. It's the quiet one, I think? Currently on sale for $80.00 USD at Fred Meyer (Fred Meyer is basically THE store for Oregonians, lol)

Nice eh?

The robot vacuumer that we have, the Irobot roomba 780 is very pricey, BUT its worth every penny. We NEVER vacuum ourselvs anymore, its that good - really! The roomba takes care of it, 3 times a week while we are at work (you can program it to vacuum 1-7 times a week), we always come home to a clean house which is a joy.

The only exception is the parrot room in which we still use a manual vacuumer.

As I said, cant comment on how good their mopping bot is, but it might be worth looking into. It doesnt seem to have the same high score that the vacuumer does, but read the reviews and google a bit on it. :)

I know you can use your own cleaning solutions as water and vineager as well, which is a bonus when owning parrots and not wanting to use chemicals.

I have to say that the air purifier has helped BIG TIME in the meanwhile, though. I HIGHLY recommend anyone with a parrot -- especially the ones with dusty reps -- to get one, or two!

So far I only have one but as Pajarita has advised, I'll probably get another. But YES on that mopping robot, for sure! A definite in the future!

We're looking at getting a purifier as well, either a honeywell tower (but the models available here have somewhat sketchy ratings) or this:

Reminds me of Portal and looks funky! Hepa filter and covers quite a large room size as well.
Ionizer can be turned on/off.

That looks pretty sweet. What's the pricing on it? I viewed the link from my smartphone and didn't see a price.

Hey, if you're interested in the model I have let me know... I can get a special discount making it 80.00 USD and I am happy to help a fellow parront out. But then shipping to your area may not be quite the deal. ;)
