I am looking for a parrot that is cuddly, affectionate and friendly. I would like to have a parrot that can talk and do tricks! It would be nice if the parrot is quite, but not too loud. I would love to have a parrot that is VERY clean!

Why do you want a parrot? Sounds like you'd enjoy a dog better.

Dogs get too big after they get older, and parrots can talk which is pretty cool

I think you really need to understand that not all parrots talk. There is no guarantee at all!

That's great your doing more research :-)

How about the things I've listed though? How will you be tackling each of those issues, I'm sure you can it just would be interesting for other prospective parrot owners to know from another. :-)

You could get a breed (dogs) that are small... they won't grow when they're older, like poodles... no guarantee that a bird will talk.

To give an example of the talking thing... in my family we have owned cockatiels, budgies, macaws and small parrots.

The only ones we've heard talk are two cockatiels and one extremely vocal budgie!- but then we've owned at least double the amount of these species none of which talked. Even the Macaw didn't talk- at least not around people. We had the suspicion he could talk in private... (this was my uncle's bird)

What exactly is it about parrots? Why not a dog for example that doesn't grow very big (a pomsky for example). Also our husky dog used to talk...

If you want any pet that is cuddly and clean... a parrot is not one. Again I would very much like to know how you plan to address the lifestyle changes I listed.

I've had a total of seven parrots, and none of them could talk. (And that includes the two I've got now, no talking here!)

Out of the five parrots I've had earlier but isn't here anymore, only one allowed me to handle him, but he definitely didn't want to cuddle!
Right now, I've got a bird who isn't cuddly, and a bird who's cuddly now and then but can (and will) spontaneously decide to bite during our cuddling sessions.

And not to mention the fact that your most important factor was the cleanliness. That's just not going to happen, sorry. Parrots aren't clean!
You should see my birdroom when I forget to clean it one day! I do try to clean it every evening, but I've forgotten about it (or been too tired) once or twice, and oh man, after just two days of eating and playing and pooping and shredding.... It's quite amazing how much mess two small parrots can make in only two days!
