Bug Smasher

Postby KimberlyAnn » Tue May 14, 2013 11:28 pm

Do you let your bird play games on your phone?

We found out that Emmi loves the Android app "Bug Smasher." It's not something that lasts more then a few minutes since she thinks my phone case needs to be chewed. If I open that app and the corny 80's computerized music starts to play, her head goes straght up and she waits for the bugs to come down. I tried to get her to play with the sound off, but she becomes uninterested quickly. It gets her more focused if she hears that smashing sound. Lol

She started to peck the screen at first, but now she knows she just needs to lick it for it to work. The other thing she loves is Bowie the yellow ringneck on YouTube. We watch Bowie videos a few nights a week and she will kiss him. Her favorite is Bowie and Angry Bird. Lol Any other games out there that keeps the interest of your bird?

Someone who's really familiar with my videos, have I ever posted a video of Truman playing with his toy phone? I remember shooting it but don't remember if I ever posted it. I wanted to share it here. Point is I'd never let him play with a real phone cause he'd snap it in half. But I have a baby toy phone I got for him that he plays with. He chewed those thick plastic buttons off like they were candy.

Yeah, I'm sure it would not work with the bigger birds! Lol

I will try to get a video one of these days!

Thanks. I shot it and thought I posted it. But I probably held off hoping he'd learn to press the buttons better but then he never did so I forgot to upload original version. Anyway here it is! Here's an idea for all you folks who want to let a parrot play with a phone but don't want to get your real one destroyed in the process.

PS I may have a few extras I can sell. When I see something good for my birds, I buy a lot in case they destroy it but then sometimes it turns out I don't need the extras afterall. I'm pretty sure it's discontinued now so contact me if you'd like one.

I'm trying to teach my bird to play Simon on my phone. He gets that he's supposed to hit the areas that light up, but he can't remember the pattern past two =/

Oh Simon! I'm a child of the 80's so I will be getting that app! Lol

I tried another bug app today. This time the bugs came from everywhere on the screen instead of just coming from the top. Emmi SCREAMED at the top of her lungs and lunged at the phone. I promptly uninstalled. Lol

But I really think we have fallen in love with Bowie the ringneck. We had to watch a few videos tonight. She cuddled up to the phone and tried to preen him. Someone has a crush on a YouTube star!
