Back soon

Postby marie83 » Wed May 29, 2013 6:24 pm

Just had a lovely PM from one of the regular forum users noting my absence lately so just thought I might post a quick note here. I have not left, just merely getting on with a vast amount of assignment writing for my animal course as its drawing to a close and I'm more than a little behind due to various circumstances involving poorly pets, people and other things. Getting distracted on here simply isn't going to get me good marks (although obviously I do learn a lot of animal related stuff from you guys) so I figured it best I stay away for a while. I may have too much work to get the highest grades as I have been getting but still want to do the best I can. Wish me luck and "see" you soon :)

Hi everyone. Well I've done it!!! Not only that but I've finished with the highest grade possible XD that's despite my work not being as good as usual so I'm very proud. Especially since I had a project which was supposed to be done over 3 months and I did it in two days because I had to change what I was doing my project on. Now just going to have a few weeks to relax (apart from work). Then do some voluntary and apply for vet nurse training next year. Very tired and stressed but very happy too :-)

Not too sure as i'm not too sure what technicians do over there. From what I've seen from other job roles over here the technicians tend to oversee the general care of the animals, cleaning, feeding, watering etc but I've not heard of it applying to vet surgeries. Nurses here oversee and carry out all that but also do nursing, treating wounds, administering drugs and assisting vets with surgeries etc which you cannot do without qualification. They may also give owners advice, show them how to perform medications etc but aren't allowed to diagnose or offer medicines without the veterinary surgeons say so.
What do technicians do in the states? I have to assume that they do the same as our nurses given you questioned it.
