I'm going into 9th grade next year, so I guess we're on the same page. Except Peanut is tamed and has a nice sized cage. Good job on gtting a bigger cage, it sounded like they needed one and the bigger the better! (Although, frustratingly Peanut PREFERS her smaller cage to a much, much larger one! :T)
Peanut doesn't like leafy greens, she almost only eats fruit, which really annoys me.
I know raisins are dried grapes and sometimes used as a treat, maybe you could use that as a stepping stone? I think grapes are good, maybe if you got some of the juicer fruits like watermelon and orange, you could soak a few pellets and mix them in. I never had this problem with Peanut, even though I got her at a Petsmart. She tooks to the pellets and fresh fruit straight away.
Also, chickadees (Since you're in Canada, they are most likely Black-capped chickadees) can sometimes take over nests. Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites, they lay their eggs in other's nests and the baby outgrows its foster siblings. I know a lot more on wild North American birds than parrots. xD But I love all birds the same.

If you want to identify the birds, I recommend allaboutbirds.org. It's like an online field guide, almost.
I tend to ramble, if you hadn't noticed.

I have no idea if this helped at all. xD
