Pajarita would know better if this would work, but it worked out well for my cockatiel when he was a baby. I strung the greens and veggies like a toy and hung them close to a favorite perch. I alternated greens, cooked carrot rounds, and small round slices of corn on the cob.

To tell you the truth, I don't go to all that trouble because my birds don't need it but then they have all the other birds to learn from...

Well, you have to be more patient if the birds don't go straight away. When they are tame you can offer as a treat. It's not a hopeless cause don't worry. I've turned many a bird onto a healthier diet. You can't expect them to eat it after one go. Also lettuce isn't nutritional you need things like watercress or lamb lettuce. Dark dark greens and dangling them from the cage or placing them on a tray at the bottom works too as this encourages natural foraging behaviours.

You are right, E&R, romaine is not that nutritious (kale is best, of course) but they do love it and, when you are transitioning them to a healthier diet, it's easiest when you offer them something they will all love and, once they get used to eating the fresh produce, you start adding variety.

Not many things are as electrifying as moving into another home. It gives a chance to without a doubt enhance the way that you live. To get the most out of your new home, however, security is significant.

I'm going into 9th grade next year, so I guess we're on the same page. Except Peanut is tamed and has a nice sized cage. Good job on gtting a bigger cage, it sounded like they needed one and the bigger the better! (Although, frustratingly Peanut PREFERS her smaller cage to a much, much larger one! :T)

Peanut doesn't like leafy greens, she almost only eats fruit, which really annoys me.

I know raisins are dried grapes and sometimes used as a treat, maybe you could use that as a stepping stone? I think grapes are good, maybe if you got some of the juicer fruits like watermelon and orange, you could soak a few pellets and mix them in. I never had this problem with Peanut, even though I got her at a Petsmart. She tooks to the pellets and fresh fruit straight away.

Also, chickadees (Since you're in Canada, they are most likely Black-capped chickadees) can sometimes take over nests. Brown-headed Cowbirds are brood parasites, they lay their eggs in other's nests and the baby outgrows its foster siblings. I know a lot more on wild North American birds than parrots. xD But I love all birds the same. :D If you want to identify the birds, I recommend allaboutbirds.org. It's like an online field guide, almost.

I tend to ramble, if you hadn't noticed. I have no idea if this helped at all. xD
