First of all, Parjarita...thank you! I have been so busy that I haven't been back, but I did find a friend to care for Emmi. San Jose might have worked! We are going down that way! I would have taken you up on that offer actually.
I must say though, the bird shop is very clean and I have seen their boarding room. I like the care they put into washing their hands and cleaning the cages. I like the time they spend with the birds. When I went in, I was greeted with big outstretched wings by two large birds in one of the rooms. I was not permitted to touch them though and I can respect that.
In the store part of the building...I did meet a nice Rainbow Lory. In my other post, I had talked about etting another bird (I have a health issue so until Ilittle what internal meds I will be on...that's on hold. The meds might possibly make birds sick by holding them. I will have to stay away from Emmi too) But this Lory was very very cute! I thought maybe...this could work! Until it wanted my earrings and I stopped it. He bit me so hard to get to my earrings, it was like a razer blade! I had no idea bird's beaks could be so sharp. He didn't bite down hard either. Shocking! Lol my hand was a bloody mess and it looked just like a paper cut. I guess it's also shocking because Emmi does not bite. I will NOT be getting a Lory! I will stick to GCCs! Lol
Poor little Lory, he just wanted my shiny things.
