i thought he was sweet and the people that look after him do it well. hes a mutation, he wasnt bred purposely but looks happy enough. sorry.

I'm wondering why they don't trim his feathers around the eyes? I would imagine they would stay clear until new feathers grow back.

Looks like a dust bunny to me! I do feel a little sorry for him, especially when they show his hidden eyes. But he couldn't have been hatched to greater people by the sounds of it!

Is this a very rare mutation? Is there a market for it? I really hope people aren't breeding them intentionally, that would be terribly sad.

He is a very rare feather duster budgie. They have one here in Austin at the rescue. There is something wrong with them that causes their feathers to grow uncontrollably and I believe they have shorter life spans than a normal budgie. Sadly there is a market for them because they are so rare and I really hope nobody is trying to breed them on purpose!

Maybe that can't trim the feathers because they constantly grow? They may bleed because they're still growing?
