Sounds like a good plan, Wolf. But, please, tell this person that he/she should make every effort at finding a companion for it because they are as social as parrots but they don't imprint on people like they do so a life on their lonesome is not a good one for them.

Believe it or not but I just located this doves owner, they are so happy to be able to get it back. The owner of where Pam works knows the owner and nobody said anything to them or us about this, because to them it is just a bird.

Of course it is "just a bird" but caring about them puts us in good company.

Yes, the 'it's just a bird' notion is, unfortunately, very common - and much more so when it's a pigeon!
