LOL- Why would you need to 'convince' the vet? She works for you or whoever is paying the bill so, if you are willing to pay for the tests, why would she object? Do some research online on metal poisoning and what a first vet visit should include for a bird and you will see that I am right. Here are a couple of links (take into consideration that this is for healthy birds that show no symptoms, not like yours which does): http://www.thebirdclinic.com/Services_O ... amination/
http://www.aav.org/?page=healthexam (this one is from the avian vets organization)
http://www.birdsnways.com/wisdom/ww13eiii.htm

Here are links listing inability to fly or walk straight as a symptom of metal poisoning (another cause of this symptom is lack of calcium and this requires a special test to diagnose called "ionized calcium test" because regular bloodwork doesn't work):

thank you!!!!
tests will probably cost a bit, but its worth it!
so you recommend blood testing, x-rays, and the special metal posiening tests?

I am new to parrots as well but from being on this forum I would say get the blood work, it will tell you a lot that's going on. And also it will give you a piece of mind. As for not answering you some people don't come on every day, some times you have to wait for an answer. Get the blood rather be safe then sorry. Good luck :gcc: :jenday:

You already know the symptoms that your bird is exhibiting and you were given enough information to match the tests to the symptoms, so in the interest of you learning , why don't you choose which ones you think should be done and them list your choices and the reasons for them and then ask For verification, instead of asking us to make all these decisions for you. It is a skill that you are going to need to develop any way. Just a thought, you will get an answer anyway but why not at least try.

Ok i will do the uhh i think blood-work is all i need.
because we will tell if it is an issue and if it is, we will do further tests.

That sounds like a reasonable approach to me. I think that you have made a good choice.
