I had a rat for 4.5 years. He was really like a best friend. One day he was fine, and it seemed like the next he had a big lump. The vet said it was tumor. In a matter of weeks it had grown so big it pressed on his spine and made it so he couldn't move his back legs. It was heart breaking, and I had him put to sleep.

I'm so sorry for your losses. I love mice (and rats) and pretty much any other beastie. I hope you find comfort knowing you did the right thing by them.
