Well, our little guy arrived on January 8th! He was 7lbs 8oz and 21 inches. We named him Anthony. It's been so crazy and I'm not quite sure where the last two months have gone. I will be back to work in four weeks and I'm not ready, but that's life when you live in expensive California!
Emmi didn't care about the baby at first, she was just so happy to see us. I was in the hospital for a week and Anthony was in the NICU with jaundice part of that time. My husband got to stay with me, so he just went home every day for a few minutes to feed Emmi. She was very lonely!
Now, she loves the baby. Her whole life is centered around the baby. She sits on my shoulder while I'm nursing. She just looks and looks at him. It's her mission to get down there and preen his eyelashes. She's succeeded once and then I caught on what she was doing. Scared me! But now I know.
Our life has been pretty simple. We start on the couch. Then we all go to the changing table. Then we go into the kitchen for my snack and water. Finally we go back to the couch. This is our life because Anthony will nurse for hours. It's really sad when your bird knows what room you will go to next and beats you there. Lol
Anthony has started to smile and laugh. He loves looking up at her and watching her fly. Especially if we get her to fly over his face and he can feel the air move from her wings. He thinks this is hilarious. Emmi's also been a great help. I keep meaning to get a baby monitor since I can't hear very well. Good thing I got a bird. Baby starts crying, Emmi starts to scream out a loud contact call. Works really great actually! Except when he makes noise in his sleep and she wakes him up with her contact calls. I hate that! Lol This kid only sleeps 3-4 hours at a time!
Anyway, here are some pictures of our newest flock member...
