Safest and best options on cleaning ones home is? I'm afraid to even mop thinking I may be using something to hurt my bird. No air freshners....then what? Help! :(

I use lemon water to clean cages. The acid in the lemon works well at getting stuff off and it is a natural cleaner. Windshield washer liquid is non scented so I put that in a window cleaner spray bottle. Floor are another matter. It is hard to find one without a strong scent. I use a small amount of Murphy's Oil Soap in the rest of the house but the sun room gets lemon water.

I use fairy washing up liquid, very diluted and hot water for stuff like tables and shelves, or diluted vinegar, then give it a good rub dry with the tea towels reserved for cleaning or microfiber cloths. That's if a quick dust with a damp cloth wont do the job. I never polish things. Failing that I use the same disinfectant that's safe for bird use at times.

I use bicarb of soda for the carpets and vacuum it up the next morning, if there's something that's been spilt on a carpet I use very diluted washing up liquid too- blot up as much of the spillage as I can, then use the washing up liquid and water mix to wet it again, repeat repeat, repeat until the stain is gone- don't rub carpet just blot and it works well for most things.

Steaming with plain water I find does just as good a job as those with chemicals you add in.

I rarely deviate from those things tbh, I may sometimes use a tiny amount of proper bathroom or kitchen cleaning spray in those well ventilated rooms only but the pets dont have access to those rooms normally and if they do its before any cleaning takes place.
