I took the door off my Amazon cage. It is full of cardboard boxes that they tare up to connect with doorways. That is Rambo's favorite activity. Three years ago I rescued Myrtle who was in a dire situation. I accepted that I would never be able to touch her. Though I could not touch her she would test her trimmed wings and walk over to climb up me so I could walk her back to the top of the cage. I was so excited that she trusted me enough to get help when she needed it.
Myrtle now spends a third of her day on me. She travels with me until she finds something to get into.
My suggestion is to put some foot toys on your table and play with them. He will watch you play. Hold the toys up to him while playing with them. All he would have to do is climb down your arm to get to them. They are really curious. If you like to play so will he. It takes time and patience but what you do when he is a baby will carry through when he is an adult and you want him to come to you.
Personalities change and later you will be glad you had this baby time.
