I took the door off my Amazon cage. It is full of cardboard boxes that they tare up to connect with doorways. That is Rambo's favorite activity. Three years ago I rescued Myrtle who was in a dire situation. I accepted that I would never be able to touch her. Though I could not touch her she would test her trimmed wings and walk over to climb up me so I could walk her back to the top of the cage. I was so excited that she trusted me enough to get help when she needed it.
Myrtle now spends a third of her day on me. She travels with me until she finds something to get into.

My suggestion is to put some foot toys on your table and play with them. He will watch you play. Hold the toys up to him while playing with them. All he would have to do is climb down your arm to get to them. They are really curious. If you like to play so will he. It takes time and patience but what you do when he is a baby will carry through when he is an adult and you want him to come to you.

Personalities change and later you will be glad you had this baby time.

No, no, budgies are bullies. They might get along with another bird if they are by themselves but never when they have other budgies to keep them company. The most likely scenario is that the budgies will gang up against the poor tiel and keep him in one single spot without moving from it.

You can't put birds of different sizes together. Sometimes, you can get away with two of different species but it's always ENTIRELY up to them and you would have to wait and observe them through different seasons to make sure there is no danger. I have and have had bonding between birds of different species BUT my birds have known each other for years, are not in cages and are kept under a strict solar schedule and all that makes a HUGE difference because most territoriality (aggression) problems arise when you have a combination of cages and hormones.

As to psittaculas, I've known birds that don't even get along with psittacula so they are not the most mild-mannered there is, if you know what I mean.

I wasn't sure about the cockatiel and the budgies but I was sure that it wouldn't work with the ringneck.

When :swaying: Teetle Dee's buddy died he wanted to be with the cockatiels :greycockatiel: :pied: :greycockatiel: :greycockatiel: :greycockatiel: :greycockatiel: . During outside cage flight time they seemed to get along. When Tweetle went back with the cockatiels I gave him a chance. He had all 6 tiels so scared they stayed up in one corner of the flight cage.

Yes, tiels are very mild-mannered and birds much smaller than them would bully them, sweet little things that they are.
