My green cheek conure flew away yesterday

Postby Greencheekconure3 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 1:38 pm

Hi I'm a new user but I have been reading stories on this website for 4 months or so now and I'm from Australia . So this is the story yesterday I took out my green cheek conures from his cage I put his cage outside because my mum was cooking with a Teflon pan . So my mum finished I went outside and saw him chirping with the other birds I thought it was a good thing but I was dumb enough to put my hand in and let him walk up my shoulder and the next thing I know he's gone I saw him fly to the back of the backyard but after that he was nowhere to be seen i feel so guilty I loved and adored him so much I can hear his chirps but I can't see him I'm keeping my hopes up I wish he can come back home .....MY BABY  :gcc:

Call him. Put his cage outside and birdseed all over to bring the other birds in. Start calling him before dawn and don't stop until after dusk. If you can hear him the flock he joined is still in the area. You need to entice him back before the flock moves. In other words feed and give water to all the birds to draw him back.

I also posted an ad on this advertising app called gumtree and I hope it works . He used to snuggle up with me , give me kisses and chase me around the house. When he slept in my room he always woke me up between 6:00. And 7:00  okay I think I'm making myself sadder

Also put his cage out for him where he can see it and put food and water in it for him. Talk to everyone in the area and get them to look for him and to let you know if they see him.

Waiting will not help you to find your bird, get out and put up fliers while walking and calling for your bird and enlist the aid of anyone that you encounter. Contact any vets in the area as well as pet stores. If your local radio station will do it put out your request for help in finding your lost bird on the radio.

If you can hear him, go in the direction of his voice. Don't worry about who's yard you walk through. Go a straight line. If the flock he joined leaves he will leave too.
