Marie, I just wish everyone would do it. It would make things easier for me to remember. It is not like I am going to stalk them.

No Wolf, you don't get points for doing it a second time but thanks for the offer. Ha Ha
What Vet do you go to that charges $700 for an exam? Now I really feel bad that you had to take the Budgies. Is Marley doing any better?

No Liz, that is my estimate for two birds which would have physical exam, comprehensive blood screen and bile acids test. Doing this for my parrotlet with a gram stain and DNA sexing costed $400. So for two bird minus two items, I figure $600 but want to leave room for possible meds.
There is no need to be concerned that I have the budgies, I accepted this right from the start and although I am still a little new with the costs of avian vets, this ain't my first rodeo. They are sweet little birds and they have a good home and I don't sweat the small stuff, we are all good.
When I gave her intended people a second chance I thought I saw one or two feathers but cant swear to that, I just got them back and they will be well cared for and aren't going anywhere now.

Thank you again.

She came to me plucked. Marley would grow little feathers and I would get excited. The next time I looked she had pulled them out. I didn't think I was doing right by them because of this.

Liz, it is much more complicated that that. It is possible that she will always be naked, I hope not but it is possible. There are many things about her that we don't know and all of them have a role in this issue. I an hoping that if I stabilize her home environment and let her know that she is loved and take good care of her that maybe she will stop doing this. Marley has plucking problems that may even have a medical basis and Harley has liver issues. This is why they are the next ones to go to the vet and since I can't separate them for this, the vet will have to see both of them. I am sure that with what he charges that this will not be an issue for him.

Wolf, ask the vet if they give discounts for multiple animals, most vets do.
