Looking for baby Parakeet (Budgie)

Postby nphoebe93 » Tue Mar 24, 2015 8:30 pm

Hi everyone! I know this is kinda off topic but I'm looking for a baby parakeet (budgie) about 1 ~ 2 weeks old. Because I wanted to raise and had feeding them.

I'm from Olympia, WA. So if anyone lives near here and having baby parakeet, or if someone knows where to find one, just reply this post. Thank you!

If I may be so bold, how much experience do you have with budgies or other species of parrots? Also, Do you have any experience with hand feeding budgies?

I am over in the mountains of North Carolina, so it is not very likely that I can do a lot about finding any birds especially of this age for you, but if you hope to get anyone to help with this then you should probably be a bit more clear in your answers instead of beating around the bush.
So your boyfriend used to be a breeder? Or he worked for a breeder and taught you how to hand feed the baby birds, this good as far as it goes but the people here really care about their birds and I think that they would want more information before they would let any bird that young go for any reason so how many budgies have you handfed?
Please understand that for most breeders do not hand feed budgies, they are so small and easily tamed that the majority allow the parents to raise the babies. The exception to this is with the large bird mills. If you have experience with hand feeding then in this area you are more advanced than I am as I don't know how to do it properly, myself.
I really am trying to be helpful, even though I don't think this is a good idea. But I really believe that if you want someone to entrust their babies to you that you need to open up with this information, because you want them to feel good about this if they are willing to help in any manner. There may be someone near to you that will work with you towards this end but I don't know.
