Also this isn't related but a friend of mine wants to get rid of her dove. Is it safe ( after quarantine) to keep doves and parrots in the same room or will they give my parrots diseases?

I kept a dove in the same room as my parrots for a while, but don't allow them to interact without supervision as a dove can't defend itself from a parrot in an enclosed area. Its only defense if flight.
Although I did this, I really don't think that it is a recommended practice.

No, it's not unless you never let the pigeon out and take care to make sure it has no parasites. But, as I said on the other thread, keeping a single pigeon alone all its life is cruel because they are highly social, mate for life and don't bond to people like parrots do so you are dooming the poor animal to a life of loneliness.
