homing pigeon

I have a friend wanting to get rid of her pigeon its a roller but its never flown outside.
Can you fly just one pigeon?
If it got lost could it still survive?
Is it okay if you don't live in the city?

I think its such a cool idea but idk anything about it. Does anybody have homing pigeons? Not much online bout it.

I can't answer your questions on this topic, but keep looking as there is a large amount of information concerning pigeons/ doves online. It just takes a lot of time to wade through all of it.

Where ever you live the birds of prey are there. They would like such a juicy little snack.

A red tailed hawk tried to get my Chick Chick when she was in the backyard alone. He could not lift her but he ripped her back off from head to tail, feathers, skin and fat right down to the muscle.

A screech owl scared my cockatiels because he kept slamming into the window to get them.

You can't really fly a single pigeon and you should never keep a single one, either. They are highly social birds that mate for life so keeping a single one is cruel.
