Meet Loki

Postby ParrotsForLife » Mon Jun 08, 2015 9:30 am

Loki is the tiel that was interested in Rocko the last time we went there to the petshop and he was the last tiel there so we took him although there was another tiel they found on the road he has a broken wing and they dont think he will ever get better poor thing and in the aviary Loki was in a budgie dropped dead it was still warm so it had only happened well anyway Loki looks very healthy and hes settled in quite good hes singing already and eating millet from my hand and he was calling Rocko from the other room his colour is lovely anyone know what mutation? Also I got myself a little job in the petshop the owner is gonna give me baby birds and he wants me to tame them and then hes gonna sell them for a higher price and hes paying me so im happy with that and I got Rocko a new toy one he can shred so he will like that.

Cute. I do not know the mutation. With that budgie in the cage that was dead make sure you keep Loki and Rocko away from each other for the quarantine period.

Also wash your hands after touching Loki or his things before you touch Rocko.

I don't know for certain, but if the paint is a low VOC paint 48 hours may be long enough. As a general rule of thumb, if I can still smell the new paint when I walk into the room I don't put the bird back in, and I prefer to wait 24 hours after the first time that I don't smell the paint. This is because once dried the paint emits some odors while it is curing and a bird is about 20 times more sensitive than humans are. I have been known o wait a week just to be safe.

The paint we used in our kitchen we couldnt smell it while painting but after it dried we could anyway if the paint I use in my bedroom has a strong smell Ill keep him out for about 3 days just to be safe.
