You don't have to wait a few days, you can try three or four times a day as long as you don't insist on it and just let him decide whether he wants to get on your finger or not. And you can try offering your palm instead of a finger, too.

We have now achieved step up onto finger!

For about a week at random times iv been doing step up training using a stick, he can fly step up onto that too with about 3ft distance

Today he stepped into my finger :) going well

Will stick to my normal interactions as well as now using finger step up :)

thank you :)

he has stopped now and has became more beaky so iv stepped back a few more steps and have just started to just spend time with him again :)

we have been out most of the week so i think when he comes out its over excitement thats causing the beaky behavior, it can be quite hard

iv noticed if he is out all day and had LOTS of time spent with him the beaky behavior is minimal, i now understand from nearly all posts iv seen that beaky/nipping is caused by a lack of the attention the bird desires,

he also becomes very snatchy when it comes to taking food from the hand if i havent met the desired attention that day, with my bird i would say on average he himself needs 8 hours out of the cage, 2 hours full attention on him as well as talking to him when i walk past ect, then he seems happy with no issues AS OF YET

This need for your attention is important with all parrots and even more so in some species such as the GCC than with others, and yes the time spent with you is directly related to how much they bite. One more thing to be aware of is excitement, in parrots it is very close to aggression, so an excited bird is much more likely to bite than a calm bird.

Yes iv definitely noticed how fast things can turn when he gets over excited, right now I'm getting that more because I gave him a fair amount of treats

Now I'm trying to integrate in just being around me with the odd treat here and there when he's calm so that then he gets used to not being so spoilt when around me

I use head scratches as a reward about90% of the time and usually only give treats for going in their cage .

Yes, me too. I use praise and personal attention as rewards. I do give them treats but they are mostly just because and not as a reward for good behavior.
