Looks like an Ornate to me but I am no expert on lories, mind you! Stop showing me all these pictures of these outstandingly BEAUTIFUL birds! You are making me want a pair! :lol:

It doesn't have the red on the head like an ornate.

They have been through hell, near starvation. They SEEM okay, and since we have had them in the aviary they fly well, but we have lost so many. I really don't know what the future holds for them. I know every day they get stronger, and every day they make it is a good sign.

Then I would go with a Rosenberg or a Greennape. It could also be a mix of two different species... I think that would happen a lot with lories.

The vet had said Green Nape, but when i searched Wikipedia for those, it just redirected to rainbow.

I'm going to miss Rio. Sweet little BFA. Tiny, and so colorful. Imported in 1984, as best as I can surmise. She came to us just before we for all those seizure birds. Just bad timing. She'd probably have been adopted last October of things were going as normal.
