Beautiful Lula got adopted today. She is such a sweet, sweet bird. I really like the mustache parakeets. We have had two, and they were both wonderful.

She looks great now! She loves to eat fruit, and she loves to bathe.

Our facility manager is working almost full time on adoption calls. Each one takes so many man hours. We have to talk to the people, do a home visit, get landlord's okay if they're renters, attempt to educate them so they make the best choice in which birds are suitable, schedule appointments for them it come in and see the birds, talk to them about cage choices, find avian vets for them, etc, etc. And not every adoption is successful, some fall through after a lot of time has been put in.

Here is one of our Lory Pairs. They bolted out the door while I was filling their nectar bowl.

I put an Umbrella Cockatoo in a brand new cage August 31 of 2016. In the past year he has managed to scrape a lot of the powder coating off.

Some people are saying that that's just how Umbrellas are and it's not a reflection on the cage quality, but I'm thinking that an appropriately sized cage should hold up longer than this, even with a cockatoo.
