Actually there are two topic in the bird topics section right at the very top for just pictures, but you will find picture all through the forums. I have not checked my e mail yet, but I am sure that your pictures are there and I will post them as soon as I can and will send you the link to them in a PM as soon as I post them.

Wolf, you know why.

Every one wants a baby and never considers that a bird exists which is exactly what they want at a shelter or rehoming from another human who cannot care for it.

This irks me so bad. Mine are rescues and I love every one of them. Just like children, I do not love them all the same way. They are all individuals.

When someone sees one of my birds and says "I want one" I tell them they don't and why. If the person wanted one before they saw mine I tell them to rescue a socialized bird from a rescue.

I have to get off this subject before I explode.

No, no, he is no longer waiting, he went to his new home -that was the big news! But I'll tell you why I think there are soooooo many birds in rescues: they ask for a very high rehoming fee (higher than you would pay in CL) and make too many demands as well as a long waiting period. People don't want to wait over a month after answering ten thousand questions, getting a home inspection, giving several references and then pay for more than they would pay in CL where all they have to do is send an email and go pick up the bird the same or next day. The way they look at it is: "I am taking in a bird that needs a home whether I get one from a rescue or from CL so why go through all the aggravation?"

I am not saying this is the right frame of mind because, when you get a bird from a rescue, the bird has been quarantined, vetted and evaluated (or, at least, that's the way it's supposed to be) but most people would not really care much about all these things, they just want a bird and they don't want to feel they are been 'done a favor' by the rescue, they want to feel as if they are the ones 'doing the favor'. It's human nature.

At least they are safe at a shelter or suppose to be. The poor things on CL might end up with a breeder her breeds them to death. Myrtles owner was considering that.
