We only have 5 birds who were at the rescue when I started. 3 cockatoos, the DYH who attacked me, and a B+G Macaw who has a quite colorful vocabulary.

We have adopted out 2 cockatoos in the past year: Kiki, the Citron, and Buddy, the super plucked goffins. For Amazons we have adopted out Charlie, the elderly DYH; Marvin, the Mealy; Tanya, my Hispaniolian; and now Herman, the Blue Front. We currently have 4 DYH, 1 Orange Wing, and a mystery Amazon who most closely resembles a BFA.

Everyone seems drawn to the cockatoos at first. They are like that crazy guy you probably knew in college. Impossible not to notice, kind of crazy, and lots of fun. But would you want to live with him???

Four DHYs? WOW, I would have assumed they go fast - they are soooo pretty! But, they are the hottest of the Hot Three so I guess it's understandable...

I think the mystery one is a Blue Front and Yellow Shoulder mix. There is this one on CL that keeps on appearing for adoption every now and then and, when I see him, it always reminds me of the one you posted here asking what species it is.

That's as good a guess as any! there just aren't many species with the black beaks.

When am I gonna learn not to look at rescue birds. Now I want him. He and the RB could brag about their black beaks and toenails together.
What a precious tilt of the head... he wants a home!

Any guesses on the type? A hybrid, maybe?

Reposting th picture of Pepe. He has a tiny spot of blue above his beak and a tiny bit of blue at the top of his head. Blue fronts look so variable.

Pepe has black nails, but paler feet than a BFA.
