It's probably like Stadia, Aquaria, etc. you can use the Latin plural, or add an "s/es," as long as you're consistent.
I've never run across a "cuddly" macaw, like Max. She is almost cockatoo-like. The difference is, Max seems to like everyone.
Macaws are, actually, pretty laid-back birds and they do imprint very deeply to humans but they are not usually cuddly-cuddly so the poor thing must have had a dearth of affection for a long time...
Maybe. I don't remember her story. I'm at the rescue a few days a week, where most volunteers are only there one day a week, so she is probably getting used to me.
She tends to squawk loudly and lead with her beak when approached, so she probably has scared people off for a long time. Like so many greenwings, she does better when stepping up from the rear. She steps back onto my arm easily and quietly that way. And everyone knows that she is sweet now. That initial bluff doesn't scare anyone off, anymore.
