And see how he did like the higher pitch, happy baby voice? Not all species like the 'high energy' voice though... I think that amazons tend to prefer a soft voice and words spoken in a slower and more marked cadence.

Cockatoos generally don't like me much. That's just as well, since I don't think I could ever have one. Just too much dust for my lungs.

Cheerio, the U2 in the video, is really friendly. He does tend to like me okay. He does get really excited when I use that high-pitched voice. I haven't tried it much with Bucca, our M2. I'm usually trying to remove energy from that situation, not add to it.
We had a very plucked Goffins named Buddy who really loved me. He was super nervous, but super nice, and went home fairly quickly. He's one of the ones I really miss. He definitely reacted better to a softer, quieter voice.

Everything the Rb says or sings is in the same high-pitched parroty tone as the wild cries I hear on YouTube vids of Patagonian flocks... EXCEPT... when he is feeling very sexy, he will get up under my hair and say "hello" in a quiet, BARITONE. I treasure it. I've tried to capture it on voice or vid but it only happens a few, maybe ten times during mating season. I will always wonder where that came from.
Isn't that strange?

Well, of COURSE!
I should have known. Hypersexual, self-centered, no job and 32 years old, in and out of jail... who WOULD he listen to? John Denver?
NO!
Barry White...

 Maybe he is trying to imitate Joey's (you know, the Friends' character?) pick up line, the low and sexy "How YOU doing?"

Joey would be a step up in character, manners, and pick-up lines, but... thanks for the thought!

Ollie, our white eyed conure got adopted! I had no idea he was pending, but he has already left. The White eyed is a nice species, about the size of a blue crowned.
