I engage any human I see in a situation that is not right. This even extends to standing in the pet food isle at Walmart and telling people to not buy pet products made in China. There is a reason why so many pet foods have American flags on them. My little dog Jasmine has liver damage due to jerky treats from Waggin Train.
When someone knows about Rambo they usually tell me they want one like him. I tell them they will not get on like Rambo because each one is different then continue on of what problems they have caused me and that my life revolves around them.
I tell them my life was simpiler before the birds but not tell them it was not near as happy.

There are also times that I just can't deal with really ignorant people who don't want to learn. I have to get away from them. It is not that I put on rose collored glasses and ignore these stupid people. It is that I can't take the emotional over load. I have to change the chanel on TV when the news has animal abuse that I know I can't change.

Hmm, well, I definitely do NOT believe that releasing captive-bred birds into the wild by just opening the cage door is doing them any kind of favor but I also do NOT believe that parrots can live a happy and healthy life in a human home. Personally, I would be very happy if owning parrots as pets was illegal (same as any other undomesticated species of complex needs) but would be content with very strict regulations (similar to Swedish law) and a certification process with annual inspections. And I do believe that some captive-bred birds can be released into the wild given a lengthy rehabilitation program and a very controlled environment after (like the scarlet macaw program, for example).
