Egyptians bred birds of prey

I am not clear on whether they know for a fact that they used them for hunting but it's still interesting that they bred them in captivity and that the one they did the necropsy on died from choking because of force-feeding...

I didn't know if they bred their falcons or not but I think that I have seen hieroglyphics that looked as if they were hunting with them. I did not know that they were using them as offerings although I shouldn't be surprised by it.

Well, actually, a representation of a falcon means 'soul' in Egyptian hieroglyphs as well as a representation of the god Horus.
