As to 'professional', the word means that you have a 'profession' - which means you are trained and formally qualified to do something and get paid for it. If you call yourself a trainer and charge for the services rendered under that title, you are portraying yourself as a professional.

Be careful because, I don't know the laws in Ireland but, here in the States, what you are doing is illegal and, if something goes wrong, your parents can get sued for it.

And that is the only thing that I am trying to prevent from happening. As I have already stated there are both legal as well as moral issues at stake here.

Here are people trying to help you even though you don't agree with what they have to say. No one is trying to hurt you and you go copping this silly holier than thou attitude again. Most of the time we actually learn more from the exchange of information that happens when there is disagreement rather than when everyone says oh yeah, it's all good and you are such a sweet boy. Again that is why there are forums. If you don't want peoples honest opinions about things then don't post about them instead of copping attitudes because you don't like what is said.

How rude. When you did not like the response you got all you had to do is stop posting to that thread.
Wolf is supplying you with info he has. You have posted info to others. You sound like you are going to "take your marbles and go home". It would be a loss for us as well as you if you did so.

Why get involved if you know im obviously gonna reply say what you want.Nobody is gonna want to stay on a forum if people complain about nearly everything that gets posted. And what if im training birds thats my business and im helping people dont know how someone could disagree with that thats just silly and Wolf im talking about you you obviously dont care that birds are being helped and the African grey I was working with his owner was gonna give him away but because I stepped in and helped hes happy with the progress his bird is making.

I don't think that you read what I posted and instead saw what you wanted to see. I never tried to make you stop and even suggested things that you need to study to become a more qualified person at training. I do think that if you are going to continue that you need to be working with a licensed trainer, but that is just my opinion.
I have no idea as to what any of the birds you are interacting with are faced with in their lives and that is probably because you didn't share that information, but as much as I hate it neither that nor what I think is going to make a difference if you cross any legal boundries. I would really hate to see that happen to you, but you can't see that this is part of what I am trying to share with you. Sometimes there is a right and a wrong way to do something.
Well, since I have no more to say about this issue, good luck and I hope you have covered your six.

ParrotForLife, you have been told something, If you do not like what you are told and will do it anyway just drop this thread. It takes 2 people to disagree.

It is ok, Liz, as long as he remains civil and doesn't start attacking anyone, he can say whatever he wants. There is nothing wrong with disagreement and in fact sometimes the most learning takes place during disagreements. If used wisely, standing your ground when no one else agrees with you can be a good thing. Sometimes it is the only thing to do. If I have too much of a problem with this discussion, I can always not reply to him.

He is just behaving his age. That's all. That's the way children are, they always think they are right, that they know everything and that older people who tell them they are wrong are either mean or don't know anything

My concern is not his feelings, my concern is the potentially long lasting damage he could be doing to these birds...
