Myrtle was on my shoulder when I opened the storm door. A wind took the door out of my hands and sucked Myrtle off my shoulder. It was awful. I watched her being blown back and forth all over my front yard before being blown into the neighbors yard. She fought the wind. If she had been clipped I don't think she would have survived. Since then Myrtle has no desire to go out.
I just read a post on facebook that an IRN was attacked by a hawk while on his owner's shoulder. The hawk let go at the end of his flight leash but came back after him. The owner could hear him screaming and found him. The little guy flew right back to the owner. The feisty little guy was cover in blood but it was not his. I don't think he will ever go outside again.
