No parrot

Postby Matt Alyk » Thu Oct 08, 2015 6:30 pm

My efforts were in vain. I guess it'll be a while before I can get a parrot. Awhile meaning six years at the least.
Little light, lead us through the night, and if we die, burn down the forest.

Matt, I am so sorry. If I lived close I would let you keep one at my house.

Well, I get to go to the shelter next week. Every other time they have promised that it hasn't happened though, I can only hope. I haven't seen a parrot in person for over a year.

When you finally get there find out if there is someone in your area that volunteers.

Oh, so very sorry, Matt! Keep on trying though... your father might change his mind. How about fostering a bird? Would he be willing to allow you to do that? It's not a permanent thing so he might...

My parents have their minds set. I'll try, but it will almost certainly not work. They probably wouldn't like the idea of fostering a bird either, but I'll ask. When we go to the shelter, we just might find the right bird and maybe their minds will change, but that's very unlikely.

Yep. Maybe, if I find a bird that likes us, I can ask to foster him/her.

Yes, you could. It won't happen right away because they would have to do a home inspection, etc but, if your parents are agreeable and they do use foster homes (not all rescues do), it could very well happen!

When I was growing up my parents did not allow me to have an animal in the house. As soon as I got my own home I filled it with any stray I found.
You may be deprived now but you have a long future ahead of you to have anything that will fit in your house. No elephants.
