Hey, I didn't mean to be a thread-killer! I am interested in what other folks do for a living!

Well, I spent the last 2 years hand feeding and socializing baby parrots at a local pet store. I had to quit for a variety of reasons so am now unemployed. I'm considering writing a book but I never start because I get discouraged by the difficulty of having work published. I can also video edit and went to school for it but have yet to have an actual job doing it. Oh, and I'm a mom. Not nearly as exciting as rocket scienceing! :)

I am a stay at home mom. The meda and all the femenists look down on it and say it's demening. I think that there is nothing better than a mom who is always around for her kids. Mine are now in thier late teens and sense the econimey is so bad and it's been a long time sense I worked outside of the house I'm going to volenteer. But even that has a waiting list right now. I'm in southern CA and Disney has a promotion going if you volenteer threw thier website at a place listed with them you get a free one day ticket to Disney. They have to get confromation that you did the work before you get the ticket. So there are now waiting lists to volenteer. LOL

I wouldn't exactly call myself a feminist, though I think women should certainly be able to attempt whatever they want and have their efforts judged and rewarded on an equal basis with men --- that includes staying home and being a mom! I am pretty sure it's no longer considered demeaning by very many people and the amount of work involved is much better understood than it used to be.

I work at a petstore for 6 hours a day, four days a week. For two days a week I go to school for 8 hours. And I have one free day, which I usually use to clean out all my animal cages. And I'm going to school for veterinary medicine. There isn't a day I'm not around animals :D

If we had an empty bird cage at the pet store I would definitely bring my bird in to watch me work, but I doubt my boss would appreciate it like the bird would.

Wow that's pretty cool. I recently designed a 3D Paper Radio Telescope of the Parkes Radio Telescope Observatory for the CSIRO here in Australia . . Seriously.

My Real job is IT and I've been self employed for the last 10 years. I still do some Design Engineering from time to time mainly using Catia on a contract basis. I also work for my 10 year old son on his 3D paper aircraft http://www.fold3d.com/ . . . but he doesn't pay me :(

I work from home so I'm always here with our bird.

Cheers
