I am a writer of the sci/fi fantasy genre and a work-at-home parent. And I also happen to be a loser, but you implying that we losers are bad people kind of hurt my loser feelings... Assuming a bum and a loser can be counted as the same thing here?... But we have electricity.

What a fun idea for a post! : )

I teach high school Art. I've probably lost all contact with the normal world (long before bird came along), but I''m happy! My friends all think I'm a freak for having a bird and they figure I'll end up a lonely spinster with dozens of birds and a nest in my hair (anyone watch South Park? :o ) because no one will date a woman with a bird. C'est la vie...

And for the record, I have only the one bird and my electric bill does get paid. My credit card on the other hand... ;)

Interesting. I am currently trying to get started writing a book, probably in the fantasy or horror genre. I knew I liked you for a reason! We geeks have to stick together!

...But...but I'm not a geek... *biggest lie ever told by anyone, ever*

I am on my third book of a series... I don't really suppose "sci-fi" is the best description, but sci/fi fantasy is the genre the Almighty Editors shoved me into, so I won't complain. :P I prefer to think of it more as...uh..."novelized manga that happens to have elves and swords". LMAO!

I am a Speech Language Pathology Assistant. I provide speech and language therapy/support to children ages 3-13 and their classrooms (I work in a school district) and am currently *trying* to get into grad school so I can become a Speech Language Pathologist. I have also provided in-home ABA therapy to children with autism in the past and if the whole grad school thing doesn't work out I would like to get my BCABA and work in that sector again.

the only artsy thing about me is that I love to bake and decorate cakes. my electric bill has gotten paid on-time since I graduated. Before then... well they don't call them starving students for nothing

Interest in manga, elves and swords = GEEK! :P  (can we throw interest in parrots in too?)

Are your books available to purchase (and maybe even read!) for those of us with an enduring love for all things elvish?

I love books. I am dying to read yours! Will it be available in Europe too or will I have to get one of you to sent it over?
And how about you Pchela? Will you ever try to publish or is it just a personal hobby?

Interesting careerchoices all of you. I didnt know we had such a variety here.

I run the office of a small business. Fun stuff, right? lol! I love it though. I'm a bit of a nerd and love doing a little of everything needed to run a business. I prefer to work small scale so I get to put my hand in every area.

If I ever get the confidence to write something I will certainly try to get it published. We'll see how it goes! I've got to work through some self esteem issues.
