I know this is an older post but I just joined the forum and thought I'd share my experiences with the NY wild parrots. They have been around since the 70s I think, and there is a flock that's called Queens home, in fact they nested under the Throgg's Neck Bridge, which is near my apartment in Queens. 2 summers ago, I took video of them eating our neighbor's pears from her pear tree. They were here (and let everyone know it!) for the first 2 summers I lived here, but not this summer. I'm not sure why they haven't come back.
One video is of our dusky conure Spike watching the Quakers outside (Spike is flighted and there is a screen there you can't see).
