Are Plum heads/IRN Alike?

Postby ParrotsForLife » Sat Nov 28, 2015 8:42 pm

Why do Indian Ringnecks make a sound that sounds like a cute baby? Mango also does that and the first time he did it was the first time I ever heard him make any sounds he did it when chewing the bars off his perch. And now sometimes he does it when hes relaxing.Well actually are all Asiatic Parrots alike? Do they make the same or similar sounds. Also what exactly does a parrot look like when trying to speak or practicing speech.

What do you look like when practicing speech? Do you look any different ? Parrots are pretty much the same as it is not really what they look like as much as it is how do they sound. With my birds it is noises that are similar to their usual noises but they sound almost like a word but not quite. And that is about the best that I can describe it to you.

Here is some audio of IRNs vocalizations: http://www.indianringneck.com/sounds/

I couldn't find any of Plumheads in the wild, the only thing you find is captive ones and one cannot go by that because Plums are more aviary than companion birds (what I mean by that is that aviary birds change a lot when they are kept as companions so their vocalizations would reflect that)
