Talk about a parrot getting out: My son put Myrtle in my bedroom and closed the door because she wants all his attention and he can't get anything done when he is here. I bought a very old home with many flaws. There is a gap under my door. I don't know how that big bird managed it but she crawled under the door to get out.

 They are smart little suckers, aren't they? I had the same problem with the door from the kitchen to the mud room but my husband fixed it with a door sweep, the kind with the hard rubber thingie and that you screw on the bottom of the door (they also have the self-stick ones but those are no good).

I'll have to try it. Since she does not get caged she has to have a time out.

Haha, yep! Tilly so does this... And she has a dreadful new habit of destroying fingernails, she goes slightly out of her way to get them. Dont even know where she got the idea!

Myrtle was out of the house and in a tree for more than an hour which seemed like 12. She does not want out and will even go to the door on my shoulder so she can see who is there. (The wind hits the back of my house so I don't have to worry about her being sucked off my shoulder at the front.)

Rambo is my watch bird. He could always identify a vehicle sometimes even before it got to the dive way. Though he was in the back of the house he would announce my friends names. Though he did not like men his attitude changed with one and he would yell "Harold's here". Now he has a front window so he even tells me when he sees a jogger. If someone comes in the front yard he sounds the alert to the dogs who start barking. Then the birds start barking and two of the dogs will howl.
I really don't need a security system.
