I was not hurt, was just trying to get my whole point across. And Liz, it comes off as interesting to me that you feel I am in danger when I know I'm not. I do not wear a burka, but my parents would not care either way. When I chose to wear a hijab actually, it was my dad who was unhappy about it for two years before he accepted that it is my body and my choice. His side of the family, both in Pakistan and here, still make remarks about it and urge me to take it off. Girls do change their minds about wearing the headscarf, and nobody (generally) treats them any differently for it. It is between each person and God how they choose to dress. Period.
Of course there are people who behave differently and negatively, but there are all kinds of people in this world. A few people who enforce their *cultural* standards are not representative of an entire religion nor even that entire culture.
