So we will be going out tommorow for the day to a water park, and next week for a few days for family, how long is depending on my sisters work. Dad will be home to feed Tilly but she wont get much time out i can imagine.
I will cut vegies and fruit for the days the day before we go for Dad to feed in advance. Question: Freeze them or Refrigerate?
Im not saying I dont want to see some of the family, but would stay with Tilly and everyone else if I could. I fret when I leave them at home and im no there to make sure all is ok.
The chickens are becoming harder to put away for the night as it gets hotter and Dad will have an overnight shift. So getting them away will be a problem. He might leave them locked away that day thougj.
Anyway just saying that I wont be on tommorow but I guess I havent been on that much anyway, we have been pretty nonstop these holidays. I enjoy coming here though. :D
Havnt had a chance to make gloop yet either, I will do it soon though. Also as for the lizards because Mum and Dad want them out of the house(stinking everything up  ) they are considering building an outdoor metal sheet enclosure, which would be really awesome!!

So what do you do for your birdie if you have to go away during holidays? (lol, Have a feeling the answer will be 'stay home' but it isnt always a possibility..)

I do about the same as you. I do as much as I can ahead of time, make a detailed list of instructions then fret the whole time I am gone about my babies.

It's actually very rare that I go away and this is mostly due to the birds. I can get a daughter that lives 20 minutes away to come over and, although I don't like to leave the dogs alone overnight (the cats don't mind it so much), they would be OK but I would not do it to the birds so, usually, when I have no choice but to go back home to see the family, my husband stays behind -and I still worry something terrible. But I do the same as you do, I leave him bags of gloop already prepared with different flavors and labeled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc (I leave these in the freezer) and I also label the produce for which I always choose the kind with the fact in mind that it will have to stay fresh for a few days (I leave it in the fridge, not in the freezer) so I use things like broccoli, chicory, celery and romaine lettuce, grapes, grape tomatoes, blueberries and blackberries that can be given whole and leave bananas, apples, oranges, etc all washed but in their peels split into bags with the quantity that needs to be cut into small portions daily. I do the same thing for their seed/nut mix for dinner, leaving it in bags with the daily portion and labeled as to what birds get which one. Another thing I do is make him help me two days before I leave so he can see it with his own eyes because it's easier to understand the labels that way.
