Less Mess

Postby ParrotsForLife » Sat Apr 02, 2016 7:22 am

Found lots of these trays in my house and decided to use one for putting the food on, It's very nice and fruity lol and will definitely make cleaning easier, Mango will probably think it's real fruit lol just like in his bowl.

Great Idea... love it. I try to have less mess, my two especially the Meyers are total slobs....lol... i always feed my parrots their soft foods on top on their cages. They have playgrounds on top of their cages and they both have space for food dishes. i have small pieces of unprinted news print on top and under the cages that can be changed quickly and easily and saves on vacuuming plus the inside of their cages stay cleaner so dont have to clean the inside of their cages that often, except for the bottom of the cage of course.

Its good they have their eating area because when eating from the cage theres mess all over the floor and they don't even sleep in their cage as they are now living cageless.

Sunny is definately a lot messier than Gaugan. When she is served her raw and fresh foods, she will pick out what she is not in the mood for and stack them in a nice perfectly neat row, and may go back and eat them later. Sunny chucks whatever he doesnt want to eat all over the floor so I have newsprint all around his cage that I can just replace after he eats. I am trying to convice hubby that some nice linoleum flooring would be easy to sweep and wash, but so far no luck.

You might also want to consider bamboo. I recently installed it in my living and dining rooms and it's FABULOUS! It looks as good as hardwood floors but it's much, much easier to clean and, apparently, impervious to water. The guy who installed it had removed the radiators to do it and, when he put them back, he must have left the valve loose in one of them so it leaked and went under the flooring (I got the 'floating' kind). We did not realize it for a couple of days because we had piled up furniture right in front of it (we were also painting the trim and moldings and refinishing the dining room set) and, when we moved the furniture away, two lines of boards had curved all the way to the middle of the room! I almost have a heart attack because that meant that we had to call somebody to replace them but in a matter of a few days, they had gone back to their original shape, nice and flat! Wonderful product! I wholeheartedly recommend it. It's inexpensive (compared to hardwood floors), it looks beautiful (comes in different colors, too), it's easy to install, easy to clean (a damp mop with some warm water and a bit of Murphy's does it) and it does wonderfully with water (a HUGE plus when you have as many animals as I do).
