Ay, my dear, I don't know why anybody lies - but it's a fact people do. It's not only a completely futile endeavor, it's also the most arrogant of behaviors because the lier always believes he/she is going to get away with it -as if he/she was able to fool everybody in the whole wide world!

I just wanna let you know I don't lie to people especially people like you that I actually like.

Thank you, Brandon, I do, see what you are saying, but I really think that the last bit was just because she is concerned about the bird, and maybe she doesn't know a better way to say it at the time. She is not really sure what to think and wanted to say that your birds welfare is important to her as well. But yes she was really trying to reach out and apologise to you.
