Welcome to the forum.
Passionate humans try to pass on info but do not take time to control how it sounds. I have committed this offence and do not mind when someone steps in to translate what I have posted.

"I'm just a soul who's intentions are good ...". I am so sorry when I find out that I caused an irritation.
It is the right of the human to care for his bird the way he wants. But we have a right to add how we feel about it and try to adjust what that human is doing. Why else would we need a forum.
I have been on the receiving end a few times. It hurts and hurts worse to know that I could have done more for my babies. If a response does not feel right I will explain my actions in more detail. If I get the same reply I just go with it and see if it works for me.

 I would not say it's normal but then I would not say it's super rare, either. One of the good things about this site is that debates and discussions are welcome - even if, sometimes, some members get a little 'het up' under the collar. Other sites are very mild in comparison to this one but it's only because they nip every single debate/discussion on the bud.

Thank you for welcoming me , I am just trying to learn to navigate this site ( very computer stupid) so I hope everyone will be patient with me until I figure this out.I'll probably post stuff in the wrong spots as well as answers in the wrong place . My grand daughter said she would help me next week. I asked wolf if he was up for a little training session but he's not on line yet. He sent me something through my e-mail private from site and it was easy to respond back. I would love to do the thread thing but that my's well be French and I don't speak that either. My birds are my life so I haven't paid much attention to tech. Stuff! I love to share and learn about all parrots as I have several rescues.there's not many in my area that are as O.C.D. About there birds and I wear the term eccentric proudly. Any tips on the thread thing would be great and posting pictures. P.S. Where do I see everyone's birds on this site at ? Thanks much, Bird woman

I too am not tech savy, it took me quite a while to figure out how to use this forum!

You can post images by pressing upload underneath the typing box.., Then press choose file and either pick an existing photo or take one. If you choose an existing photo it may need to be resized wich can be done on a photoshopping app.
Now I dont always have a photoshop app on my device so usually I resize by zooming out on the photo in my photo gallery screenshotting it and then cropping it back to the photos size (in my gallery.)...
If you would like you pm either Wolf or I, and you can email them to one of us, and we will happily resize for you.
As for our bird photos, I think most of us just make a thread to share them, but quite a lot of us have also shared our photos in this thread-http://theparrotforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=38

 Welcome to the club of technology-impaired old foggies! I am trying to be nominated president of it! Take your time and you will see this site is actually pretty easy. I am 'the bird lady' to the neighbors, police officers, mailman, FedEx guys, animal control officer, etc. as well as the electrician, plumber, contractor, etc. I call them, introduce myself by name and, when there is no immediate answer, I tell them: "I am the lady who has birds..." and they go: "Ah, yes! The bird lady!" :D

I thought I might get blasted for having to many birds but a lot of you have as many or more. So I would welcome any and all advice , tricks, tips or anything else that might enable me to make things more efficient in our flock. I'm in the process of building another big outdoor avairy . I've got the food grade stainless thing down and the safe build. The only mistake I made was getting a larger diameter square than I should because every bird in the world wants to hang out in there. So a carved owl stands watch as well as a hawk and cat , have to switch it up there smart little buggers! I can't sanitize everyday when the kids go out and play and wild bird diseases scare me , these birds are my life. Most of the time I like them better than my kids. L.O.L. I have 3 areas for them outside but I'm expecting another rescue to come in and I really want a place when there in quarantine to be able to enjoy the outside and fresh air like everyone else , it is almost summer. I do have a separate place ( pool house) where I quarantine . This makes it so much easier and safer . My grand daughter will stay so the poor birde in exile has company. The birds can all still call to each other and see through the big picture windows so there still getting to know each other. As good it gets with the knowledge that I have , but always looking for cool ideas to make things mor efficient and better suited for my gang. Bird woman , the pool house is my refuge to with all the emenities!!!!

Do your outside aviaries have roofs or at least partial roofs for shade? Also you could put another mesh screen over the stainless steel mesh that has smaller holes and as long as it is separated so that your birds can't chew on it you could use a galvanized hardware cloth although I would still recommend painting it with a good quality epoxy paint just as a precaution.

i think it is so wonderfull you are having outside aviary as well as inside, not mattter what we do, the inside quality of air pollution is much worse inside than outside, and parrots need some sun to be able to utilize all their vitamins. i cant do an outside aviary here, and for two parrots, its not worth it, but they get outside in outside cages, and Gaugan can be harnessed and I have a new harness coming for her that is the most comfortable one on the market.

I used to have a lot more parrots, but my thinking now is at my age, two is enough, and they will have to be rehomed, at least Sunny will when I am no longer on this planet. I am fairly new to Kelowna, and I wanted to volunteer at a Shelter here, to give some parrots more of myself, but alas the only shelter fairly close is not open to that.

Aviary

People are wanting the heading of that thread gone. I just erased The top part ,is that what they mean by let the thread die? And do I have to remove it and how. And yes plenty of trees and shade and misters with thermometers that read in the house . The bird room also is a place where I relax in full view of the back aviary , and that's attached to the house so they can come and go as they please. I have been at this set up for years , and it is constantly evolving .I watched a video a while back in an Asian country where a monk took care of and had lots of rescues. The place was absolute bird nervona, and if I ever hit the big lottery that's what I will build for my birds ;) And as you probably know the rest will come! Bird woman
