Some on this forum are so knowledgable that I would never know they were in their teens without them telling.

Many of the cockatiels I rescued would probably be dead somewhere if these and the others had not given me the courage to take them on.My little Gimpy was the last one I discussed on this forum before accepting him. I asked for help deciding and they helped me have the courage to take him. I did not know at the time that not only could he not walk and perch some idiot clipped his wings. He was a fat lump of feathers. Gimpy is now a flying and landing on surfaces to join in with the flock. He is happy and that is all I ever expected of him.

This forum has also made my life bearable since I am basically a shut in with my 85 year old aunt. Ignoring that parrots are the reason for the forum. I have friends in this neighborhood that I would not have met otherwise.

Lets all hang on and learn. Ask a question and get an answer. If you do not agree throw the question back a different way and you may get a response from someone who better understands your question.

Yes I have learned a lot and keep learning. Wolf has researched info for me because I was too lazy or busy to look it up myself. I cannot brag enough on the humans here so lets learn and of course BRAG on our babies.

I do love to here the bragging as well as the problems.

If I hadnt come here, Tilly would still be living on just seed, probably boring her head off, and I would not have gotten my precious little baby Shrek. Being here and talking to you all has helped me so much to improve my birds lives. I honestly dont know where I would be without everyone I have met on here. I have learnt somethining from every single person here, and I have gotton to see parrot owning and parrots in a whole new way.
Even if I do not agree with everyone here, I am grateful for their presence, because they are all providing me with learning experiences.
I hope that no-one does ever take offence to what I say, I have grown up very 'casually'... and have had to learn to let know ones words hurt me and rather to try to learn from everything I am told.

I love being around everyone on here, I am homeschooled so not only is this a great place to learn, but also to interact with you all.

I have a question right now and will accept answers from anyone who has an idea. Gimpy can now fly but has only gained courage in the flock. How do I get him to wash his dirty butt without scaring him. He does not bathe on his own and would probably be afraid of the spray.

These humans are even merciful to me since I can't spell or remember who said what. I am in other forums but this one rules.

You don't have to answer in this thread and mess it up. You could answer in one titled Dirty Birds.

There is nothing wrong with coming here for answers but I don't come here for answers for people who are asking me questions because I know how to help them.Wolf shouldn't be assuming that I take this forum for granted.

Man o man, there sure has been a lot going on since I last checked in last night and this morning, at least in this thread.

Brandon, I am not assuming near as much as you are. At least all I said was that when you don't know the answer that you come here and I can back that up with many topics from you since you decided that you are a parrot trainer. I never said that your question were for the people that you were trying to help, nor did I assume that. I never once claimed that you take this forum for granted that is another though that is entirely of your own devising. I do not lie and if you look back in your own threads you can see the validity of my statement for yourself.

Regardless of this, what is the problem that you have about coming here for answers whether it is for your own birds or to help another bird? You will still receive the same answer as this is not about you, this is about the birds. I come here for answers too!

So sorry that you feel so bad about admitting to yourself or anyone else that you use this site to help you with your parrot questions. It really is not a bad thing except in your own mind.

Your name was not mentioned in this thread until you jumped into it, go back and look. Yes there is a lot of misunderstanding occurring that does not need to be. So lets let it go on this thread. Perhaps the better way for us to deal with these misunderstanding would be to talk to each other using the PM's so as to not disrupt the forum while we talk these things out, what do you think?

It came out all wrong there is a lot of good advice on here but it was me that was lacking the interaction with my bird and that's why it wasn't working I've stepped up my interaction with him and we are bonding together well!! Sorry for offending some people!! :sun:

I must admit that I was a bit surprised with your other thread, and even taken aback by it to a certain degree. It even took me a reply or two to get it together to say that if you got the help that you needed that this was great. It does not matter where you got the help that you wanted, or from whom you got it, that you did get it is all that really matters. And yes we have all sorts of people here and our delivery is something that we can all work on to improve. Thank you for both of these threads as they both contain some valuable information for us humans so that we can better understand how our words impact others who come looking for answers.

Well then you guys need to stop putting people down that don't quite understand birds!! And no those are not babies that Brandon has!! I have seen you guys comment on other people's posts as well telling them shit like they will never get anywhere with there birds and making them feel hopeless as u did me!! So maybe if u don't want this kind of negative feedback reconsider how u talk to people!!

First of all, I would personally appreciate it if you did not use profanity.

Brandon got his birds as babies or juveniles, they were not fully sexually mature adults (the age when the parrot would leave the immediate family circle and breed itself) like your sun conure. This makes a BIG difference. It's like saying that a 5 year old or a 16 year old human are adults. They are not. A 5 year old boy can physically do the same things as an adult (feed, clean itself, walk, run, etc) but he would not be able to make it on his own. A 16 year old boy might look almost like an adult (and can even procreate) but he doesn't have the same capacity for decision making as an adult because his frontal lobe is not fully developed (this only happens in the mid-twenties) - see what I mean? It's the same with birds. Young birds are insecure so they are much easier to deal with than birds that are full adults.
