No they are not going to adopt to the States but if someone went down there and volunteered for a while and made a special parrot friend, I bet they would let that one be adopted, but then you would have to get them through quarantine, and its not an easy process on the parrot. I am still keeping up in case they have a Poi that could fit in here and have a good life. They had a Meyers and Senegal breeder on the Island, and Vancouver has Red Bellys, Brown headeds and Meyers, but they arent put in shelters much around here,and they are in high demand. The sanctuary near Kelowna has 4 Senegals and two are plucking and very raggy looking, but they will not adopt often and only one parrot to a home with a senior. Pois are hard to come by around here.
