And there have been mishaps... my azalea only came back 25%, the rest is all dead and I have no idea why - my rose bush got almost demolished the previous winter when my husband piled up all the snow on it - and the fact that my husband pulled all my 18 oriental lilies because he thought they were weeds did not help things, either (ay, ay, ay) But I will persevere! :D

i have to watch everything my husband does in my garden, or he pulls up the wrong things, your poor orietal lillies.

And I didn't even notice until days had gone by when I went there to plant something and only saw a couple of them! So I asked my husband if he had touched any plant that looked like that and he said he had pulled them all out because he 'thought' they were weeds. And this is when I get mad at him and tell him to stop thinking so much, that his brain is, obviously, out of shape for it and he might get a brain hernia! This is because all the explanations for his mistakes start "But I thought..." The other one is :"Well, I didn't mean to..." (a very common one with him, too) to which I tell him that a small child spilling juice can give me that answer but not an adult who is supposed to measure the consequences of his actions, and that, when he dies, I am going to put on his tombstone: "He died without meaning to" You all might think that I am a real mean wife but my kids laugh until they have tears running down their faces when we argue, and my husband couldn't care less what I tell him (I also always tell him that he is like a rock, nothing I tell him goes through).
