Senegal Sleep Habits

Recently my Senegal has taken to sleeping upside down, hanging from the top of the cage. When I remove him and put him on his perch he simply climbs back up and hangs upside down. Is this normal?

Nope. Sounds like your bird is broken! Take it back and tell them he doesn't perch right!!
Don't really take him back. Sounds like he like to sleep up-side down!

That's too cute and funny! My Senegal has never slept upside down, but I know he loves to hang upside down from the bars of his cage, perches, etc and swing back and forth. I've never heard of them sleeping upside down, but it sounds like another one of this goofy quirky things that we all love about Senegals.

Thanks guys..... we've recently just discovered that our bird is a girl now.... I'm sure she will not be impressed to know I've been calling her a boy all this time. LOL

She is definately full of entertainment.

Hi, I just received a Sennie, last night was her first night here and she slept upside down too. I figured she was just scared. All the way home with her, about an hours drive she hung upside down too.
