Yes, the nest and she is sitting on the egg.
i kinda figured that, even if it's a fertile egg, we shouldn't let her incubate it, as their diet has not been healthy, and their endocrine system as Pajarita says, is screwed up :/
i really want to change, but it's really difficult doing most alone :/

Don't know if it's an improvement on their diet or made it worse...
We've reduced the bread, and added corn to their mix, kinda forgotten what has been said of what i should of improved/reduce/take away...

It's not easy to see how the egg seems like, or even come near it, when both Benio and Petra protects the egg, and nest...
but i managed to see, and even this egg is a bit cracked, has a bulge on the tip of it.
We've made a bad nest i see...

Wolf...
even as broken eggs, that came out of my beloved birds, is heartbroken for me :/
guess i'm just sensitive with feelings :/

really wish there was avian vet nearby where i live, or anybody that knows parrots well :/

I know that dealing with two grown macaws can be rather trying especially if no one else is helping. Schedules can be very helpful as parrots will learn that certain thing will happen at certain times and the come to depend on that, It gives them a sense of security and control over their lives. When the scheduled activity is a mealtime or snack time they will begin to expect food near these times. An early morning breakfast and a late afternoon dinnertime along with a time for a snack perhaps an hour or so after their midday nap could all be used to incorporate new foods into their diet. For parrots mealtimes are perfect social times with the sharing of food being a bonding activity. Perhaps for their breakfast time you could introduce them to various new fruits and vegetables. Partly cooked corn on the cob is good, but also raw carrot, cantelope or some other melon, apples, pears, bannanas, berries, green peppers or even hot peppers, just about any fresh raw fruit or vegetable that you could eat would work There are a few fruits and vegetables that you don't want to feed them such as avocado and onions. We have a list of foods and other things here on the forum that I will give you the link for shortly. you could fix a small dish of various tree nuts that are roasted but unsalted and already shelled that you could sit down in front of them an hour or so before dinner time and nibble on them making noises that say what wonderful nuts these are to share with them. Probably the hardest part is remembering to do it. Here is that link, the list starts on the second page. viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12521 I hope that this will help you with their diets.

If you can't get to the eggs there is not much you can do.
If you do get to them have a flashlight handy. You may have no problem if they are sterile. If they have babies in them you have to decide.

I have a very hard time rehoming my babies. I feel totally responsible for them and it is almost as bad as homing a child. They live a long life and you don't know what all they will have to go through in their lives if you give them up. Will they get a loving family? Will their human love them as much as you? Will they feed them and give them attention as they need it? Since a baby that is well cared for can outlive it's human, is their someone who will care as much about it as the human who passed?

Years ago when my Cockatiels had babies it really stressed me out. I already had two pair and did not have the room at that time to keep more. I did find homes for them with people I knew and could help adjust to them but I still worried about their future.

Some one in my flock has been laying eggs. I can't tell who they really belong to because they all take turns on the nest. I have candled them and none are viable so I leave them. I finally took away a nest of eggs that had been sat on for a month. The eggs were dried out.

In my position I would just keep anyone produced. Adding one or two to the flock is no big deal when I already have 12.

My pets are in my will. My daughter knows about cockatiels but my son has more feeling for them like me. They will get joint custody. Rachel will inherit them but Charles will make sure they get what they need. They are not to rehome any except if it is within this forum.

When I die my daughter gets my house so the critters do not have to adjust to a new place. Rambo and Myrtle are a different problem. They can be cared for like the cockatiels. If my kids cannot keep them I have a niece who said she would take Rambo. She and Rambo know each other and would do fine together. My niece is 26 and able to give them a long time home. Myrtle is a problem child and cannot be rehomed. She has too many phobias and a very strange personality. She will not go to Rachel and considers her a sparing partner. She absolutely love my son so he said he would take her. Since my family is all on the same property she would not really have to give up her home.

I know this is a long post but I hope to enlighten anyone considering a bird. They are beings and must be treated as such.

I hope your eggs are not fertile.

Switch them for chicken eggs that you get in the supermarket, just make sure they are not cold when you put them in her nest. And get her the calciboost or you will end up with a decalcified bird.

Well, we did buy the Cuttlebone, and another thing i've forgotten name of, something similar to the calcivet thing you mentioned, i hope...

But it's really difficult getting to the egg.. Petra only allows me to watch, no nearing the nest box, Benio won't allow looking even when he's with her xD
me and benio does not cooperate at all, no idea why tho... i'm friendly, he's just not friendly with me, only with my dad he is. always been that way, lol :P

You have to watch her and, when she gets up from the nest to drink and/or eat and/or poop (usually early in the morning), that's when you go in (already prepared with the eggs at room temperature) and very quickly switch the eggs.

Are the eggs the same size?

I am so amazed at the size of the eggs that come out of our birds. I have only seen cockatiel eggs but even those seem to be too large for the bird.
