Fresh blood is red, while older blood is darker, so if it is blood it is a couple of days old. Could it be from a hemorrhoid?

No way old blood , cages cleaned throughly as well as avairys daily. I'm in touch with another vet right now to see if I can bring in. There seems to be something poking out at this point and he/she is 27 or so never had a mate I'm fearing it's reproductive by nature. First blood this morning about 7 am 5 more poops since with same color. I do understand about the colors and which part the blood is in means different things. I'll keep you posted BW

Well wolf you were pretty darn close, rectal polyp , he will have surgery next week. I'll tell you that new Dr. Beth is batting a 1000 with me. She did the poor guys rectal exam and no blood from inside past polyp. She said that's the biggest green wing she has ever seen and the strongest. Huie is a Brut weighing in at 1500 grams and all muscle. That scared the heck out of me. At least i know he's not bleeding internally. BW  work early 2:30 am good night and thanks wolf for your quick response!

Well there was no way I was going to wait till Monday I would have been out of my mind!!!! My vet apparently is way to busy for what I got going on , thank god I found this woman and they will work together, or so they say. This will be a good test , there is no reason to do another exam there's detailed pics ,cell extraction done to test for cancer , accurate weight everything in place to make appt for surgery. So we will see!!!!! After all this the only good thing is Huie is being a little more submissive today , I've threatened him with another colonoscopy  BW

Just got back from that northwest bird club show, and I really don't know what to say except I think a little infusion of fresh blood would do wonders for them. I went to the same clubs show 17 years ago when I found my Rosie , and there was lots of birds , lots of bird goodies to buy and people training and discussing care , breeding etc. Now it's pretty much out of steam and that's okay by me because I'm smarter now and don't advocate breeding birds and I think most of them do. There was 1 blue and gold macaw, 1 grey and 1 umbrella. The rest was a couple of cages of finches and cockatiels. I met the head lady , the one my husband picked up Nigel from and she said OH if I would have known you guys were comming I would have asked you to bring your birds. I would never!!! But I just politely told her that I couldn't handle people trying to touch them , the liability of getting bitten. Well I won't be going again it probably will fizzle out by next year anyway. B.W.

Personally, I don't go to any venue where they have birds for sale - not even if they also have some for adoption! There used to be an annual dog and cat adoption fair in Pa and we used to bring ours for meet-n-greet as well as fundraising but, one year and without my knowledge, they had invited My House of Wings, a 'rescue' which is, actually, a flipping situation, to participate and I never again volunteered for it (they kept the birds out there ALL DAY LONG, in the middle of the crowds walking by, dogs barking non-stop, PA system with music or announcements - the poor, poor birds must have been so frazzled, I am surprised they did not start plucking themselves bare right in the middle of it all!)

Well I was just wanting to meet this woman that Nigel came from because she runs an add on Craig's list all the time to do all the leg work and adoptions for free to find unwanted parrots good homes. She has never done a home check although invited to do so and I'm always the one that e-mailed with pics and questions about Nigel's prior situation. She breeds and sells Quakers and cockatiels but didn't have any Quakers there and said she had sold them all early. So much for checking homes !!! In all fairness maybe they have to fill out adoption papers and she checks later , but never did with me. Well I've come to the conclusion that it's just another breeder situation and she only made my husband give her 50 bucks to cover expenses but he's a pretty picked little guy and some might think he's not to handsome. He will be beautiful no more picking since he's been here so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :D she told my husband she is glad she has met us because she has been burned to many times . I asked him what that was suppose to mean as I wasn't there when she said it and he couldn't figure it out either. If she would have said it to me I would have asked her what she means. Well as of now still no call from vet so I'm going to give it till tomorrow and then schedule surgery with new vet and have all the bird records transferred over. BW
