The worst grudge I ever saw was when I scared Myrtle by accident and it took her 10 days before she would speak to me.

Well consider your self luckey cause mine absolutely bitch me out right down to the finger pointing . I wish I could post a video , it used to be halirous , now not so much. Lilly my mollucan taught the others how to do it. When she came here I think the family used to fight a lot that she came from . I would laugh when she would do it and everyone would ogle over her and now she thinks it's cute and has taught several of the other fids to do it. Now it's a real gripe feast when they get started. oh well anything is better than full on screaming and I'm luckey there's not much of that. ( especially with 10 of the little buggers  I love them all so much, mamas little angels can do no wrong :dancing2: BW

Precie YNA scolds the other birds when they misbehave - she goes: "UUUUHHHHH, too bad, too bad, too bad - too bad for you!" And my kids did not believe me and would make fun of me until Gonzalo (third boy) came over for a visit and heard it himself!

Last night I moved buddy to my room , this angry bird attitude thing is weird. I'm starting to think it's because of Huie. I'm just getting ready to uncover him and I hope my sweet boy is back. This weather is hit and miss so there outside schuedule is all messed up. When he can get outside he's fine but acts really strange when he has to stay in. He hates alyah and maybe it's because she is in my room . When she came I put her in quarantine beside my room so I didn't allow any other birds in there and at that time buddy was in my room. He was fine moving to the bird room but now he's turning into a maniac. I'm starting to think I have a case of mad parrot disease going on. BW

No, it's the 're-structuring' of the 'flock dynamics'. Parrots don't have any dominance traits but there is some sort of a pecking order when you have several and, when a new one comes in, everybody's place has to be 'rethought' - and that takes a long time. In your case, you took in a number of new birds one after the other so everybody (the old as well as the new birds) are in turmoil in terms of where, exactly, they 'belong'. This is why I like to wait a while before I bring in a new one (not that I am planning on bringing any new ones except for mates for Sunny and Isis!).

After getting buddy up he was my sweet thing. He ate breakfast in my room but immediately went back to the big bird room an started his attitude all over again. I'm not able to spend as much one on one time this week and everything is messed up after the water catastrophe in town and now harvest season it's going to a very hard next 2 weeks. I will not be bringing any more in this is to hard and getting very expensive. I've ordered several huge indoor avairys to get ready for the winter. With the extra birds I've got to make sure they all have there own safe play areas with lighting included.talk later BW

Your biggest problem is that you have all large species... they bond to humans much deeper than the little ones so they all require one-on-one and that's when things get difficult because there are only so many hours in the day and, as they days get shorter, even less hours! I have the same problem with my grays and toos... The only large species that work out are amazons because they don't bond as deeply as toos or macs and they all like each other.

Wow, haven't been on for a while and crying already over some of you loosing your birds. Im so sorry for anyone who looses there companion as I know that pain all too well. I have a lot things going on with the fids and no time to tell. The new indoor avairy came in for Huey and Mathew and just in the nick of time , we've got 12 inches of rain in just a few days. This valley is a huge mess right now . Everyone scrambling to harvest , getting flooded out and hit and miss on the electrical to run the machines. I'll update on the fids when the nightmare is over. B.W. :D

Things are finally settling down a bit. Birds are very restless not being able to go out side , but just cranked the pellet stove to 90 degrees and all of the brats are going to get a long much needed bath. I will look like a wrinkled up prune before I shower 10 of the dirty little buggers . I have been in touch with a woman ( nyla copp ) and she is going to help with the blue prints and contracting of my fids self contained live green space . When we are done they will have approx 1600 sq. Ft to do as they wish , complete with lighting , air and humidity control and even moon and twilight and live trees and shrubs. This is my dream for the birds and will take until this summer to build. She used to be in southern calif. then moved to the Pacific Northwest. She is an expert on these kind of builds , live habitats for birds and is just as ecentric and out there with her visions as I am. All the fids are well , the Huey and Mathew horror show is still going strong with no sign of letting up. . I got 1 half way sane day when I introduced them to that huge indoor cage but back to being ungrateful brats!!! Right now alyah is on my knee , Nigel is on my foot lumie is on my right shoulder and max is on my left shoulder. This won't last long cause Lilly and Riki want up too an that will start trouble. Oh"a day in the life of my fids. Well all hell is breaking loose already, it will be a miracle if I survive this winter. Pray for the green room  hope all is well with everybody!!!!BW
